More than hiking at Medvednica

More than hiking at Medvednica

Do you want to experience the presence of God in nature? Pope Saint Paul II loved hiking. Some of the prophets of the Old Testament, like Moses, climbed the mountain to meet the Lord. Jesus also went to the mountain with his closest apostles to pray.

We will also take you to the mountain. You will be hiking in Bear mountain (Medvednica), the nature park located north of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. You can expect to walk for 20-25 km each day. It will be hard, but it will be beautiful as well and we hope that when you come home, you will be grateful and happy for this experience. There you will be able to listen to the birds singing, the wind blowing and you will be able to look at the forest and the trees and the open space between the hills. You will feel the freedom of nature and gaze at its beauty and marvel at this work of God.

Our accommodation will be in the hunter’s house in the village which has become a part of Zagreb. Unfortunately, we won’t have showers there. Our food menu will be restricted and we won’t be able to eat on special diets. You will also help to prepare the food which we are going to eat and this will be a great opportunity to work together and get to know each other better. For these few days, we will live a simple life. But we will also visit Zagreb and walk in the city centre so you will see some of the monuments there.
