Experiments

The programme will begin with experiments in about twenty places in Poland and abroad from 20 to 25 July. Experiments is another word for the trials that Jesuits undergo in order to mature in their vocation. In a similar way, participants in the programme will be able to test themselves in seeking and finding God by engaging in a concrete activity. Activities will be offered in five categories: going on pilgrimage from place to place, deepening their own spirituality, going to the aid of people in need, discovering the spiritual dimension of culture and the arts, and caring for creation.

Festival

After the experiments, all participants of the programme will gather in Cracow. On the evening of 25 July a three-day festival will begin, during which they will share the fruits of the experiments and celebrate community. It will be a time of deepening friendships, sharing their faith and praying together. Meetings with interesting guests, exploring Cracow and other activities are planned. The programme will culminate in a sending-off Mass at noon on 27 July.

Motto

For the motto of this year’s programme we have chosen a phrase often used by the first Jesuits: “Ite inflammate omnia!” (Go and set the whole world on fire!). These words Saint Ignatius of Loyola would have spoken to Saint Francis Xavier when sending him on his new mission in Asia. The motto introduces us to the spiritual dimension of the programme, during which we will rediscover our deepest desires, let them ignite with love and spread light around us. In this way, we will continue to build a hope-filled future.
